J Music: Jett, New Pop Artist

Bridget (JETT) Hermano born and raised in Seattle, WA has grown a tremendous following on Youtube. In 2010 Jett began work with Tacoma based production crew 2Fifty3 as the only female singer/songwriter. 2fifty3 (consisting of) Derek ‘DC’ Clark, Emmanuel Frayer, Michael ‘MI’ Cole, Christopher ‘Breez’ Fuller and Bridget ‘Jett’. Now with song credits on Tiearra Mari and recently Shontelle, Amber Rose, Neyo, Tpain and Trey Songz under her belt, Jett continues to write. (FB)

Watch Jett cover “Who You Are” by Jessie J and “Foolish Heart” by Nina below.

Jett is also working on some original music that has great potential. Find a snippet of a song she co-wrote with Infared Ink, produced by Rockwilder below. The “Wake Up Call” preview features choreography which I always appreciate! She seems to have a Danity Kane(ish) sound that I love (they need to come back!) and a great tone. **The full video has not yet been released.

J TV: Chris Brown On “This Is How I Made It”

On MTV’s most recent episode of This is How I Made It Chris Brown talks about his life growing up, when he got his big break and struggles he’s had to endure as he worked his way up in the music business. (iluvlola)

It’s not easy to produce a unique or interesting interview with big name celebrities because it often feels as if we’ve heard it all before.  Once a very vigilant Chris Brown fan, I was still surprised by some of the things he shared about his life path.  I love hearing how singers got their start and the thought process behind pivotal moments in their careers. It was definitely a good look for Chris too. I may need to start tuning into this show!

This Is How I Made It airs Saturdays on MTV at 12P. Find more information here.

MTV News is pleased to introduce ‘This Is How I Made It,’ a brand new, inspirational half-hour documentary series that focuses on MTV’s favorite celebrities and how they traveled down that tough road to success.

The mission of the series is to reveal the intimate details and personal stories behind each celebrity’s path to fame to provide a road map to success for their millennial fans. Chronicling the moments they first realized their passion and detailing all of the sacrifices and setbacks they faced along the way. Every celebrity story is told through an intimate first person narrative aimed at inspiring our viewers, while giving them sound advice that can be applied to their own lives and dreams. In the end, each story is a testament that hard work and perseverance always pays off.

J Music: Melanie Fiona – “Wrong Side of a Love Song” (Studio Session)

She better sing the song! There is something that has always held Melanie Fiona back from superstardom, but it is not lack of talent.  Though I don’t love the song, I connect with the message; she makes me like it that much more with her emotion and control.
**Anyone else distracting momentarily by some of those guitar chords???

J Quote: Jhene On Losing Her Brother Miyagi

We were always sharing ideas and dreams and things that we wanted to do. It’s actually been like… a month since he passed, which is crazy, but I personally feel like he’s more here than ever.

All of the ideas that we talked about, and all of the things he wanted to do, those are all mine now. That’s my job now, to get those done. I know that he’s still here and when I look in the mirror, I see him. We look alike and all of that. Everything is times two now. It’s like me plus him, so I’m unstoppable.(Necole Bitchie)
